Why this site exists
Pet Train Lab is an independent educational publication for dog and cat owners who need a clearer next step between a vague problem and professional help. Many training pages online present a command list without explaining environment, reinforcement, threshold, or recovery. This site focuses on those missing decisions.
The public collection is intentionally limited. A smaller set of complete guides is more useful than dozens of breed summaries, product roundups, quizzes, or near-duplicate pages. Every retained guide should answer a specific household question and make its safety boundary visible.
Editor and primary writer
Stone Liu edits and writes Pet Train Lab. The author page describes Stone’s role and the limits of that role. Stone is not presented as a veterinarian, veterinary behaviorist, certified applied animal behaviorist, or credentialed trainer, and the site does not imply professional review where none occurred.
The editorial test for a useful page
- It defines the behavior in observable terms.
- It explains which environmental variable should change first.
- It identifies what the reward may reinforce and where it is delivered.
- It includes a stop rule and a recovery measure.
- It separates general education from medical or high-risk behavior decisions.
- It cites an appropriate source when a welfare or safety claim needs support.
No invented testing or credentials
A product is not described as personally tested unless a page explicitly explains the test and its limits. A training plan is not described as veterinary care. Affiliate availability does not establish quality, and no commercial relationship guarantees inclusion or a favorable conclusion.
