Marker Word Bootcamp

A marker word or click should predict reinforcement with almost no delay. If timing is muddy, every later skill gets harder.

What matters most

  • Use one marker only and protect its meaning.
  • Practice in low-distraction spaces before you expect transfer.
  • Stop sessions before your delivery speed degrades.

Working sequence

  1. Say the marker and deliver the reward immediately.
  2. Repeat in short sets until the pet visibly expects the payoff.
  3. Use the marker in one easy skill before scaling difficulty.
